Containerised PET200 Pet Cremator In 2016 Barnsley Metropolitan Borough Council realised that there was a gap in the services that they were offering their residents. Recognising the growth in the Pet Cremation industry, now worth more than £100,000,000 a year and learning that the nearest operating service to them was almost an hours drive away it was decided that they would investigate providing the service directly. After deciding to locate the service in the beautiful grounds of local heritage site Canon Hall Park, they needed a solution that would be discreet, reliable and simple to run inconspicuously. After several meetings and site visits to Addfields factory and the site on Canon Hall where the machine was to be installed it was agreed that the PET-200 Containerised Pet Cremation machine would be the right solution for them. “We believe we are the first council in the country to build and operate a pet crematorium. Our services will work and pay for itself, putting the money back. We have already had people ask us when they can bring their pet as this is the first facility in the area, with the next nearest in Doncaster which is a long way to go to.” Councillor Roy Miller – Barnsley Metropolitan Borough Council. A discreetly cladded PET200 pet cremator blending comfortably with its heritage surroundings. The PET-200 is currently the most popular dedicated pet cremation machine across Europe. Designed to be compact and front loading for ease of use and accurate de-ashing. One of the elements that sets this solution apart from the majority of competitor solutions is the addition of a Hot Hearth, which heats the chamber from below providing almost 360° heating reducing the cost of operation by up to 40%. “This is the first council that we know of that has invested in pet cremation and it really reinforces the growth of the industry as a viable business model. It’s a real credit to the industry, what has been achieved here, a really beautiful location where the council has made a real effort to not only provide a service but also to have made it so comforting and in keeping with the surroundings.
