How it Works The InstaCaliper is an easy-to-use tool for in-field inventory management. When the ‘U’-shaped base slides past a tree trunk, the InstaCaliper instantly calculates diameter using state-of-the-art sensor technology. After sliding the InstaCaliper’s two prongs around a tree, the Ruggedized Handheld Computer (RHC) displays the diameter via the InstaCaliper app. The InstaCaliper app records each measurement with a time, date, GPS location, and up to five additional, custom pieces of information (variety, location, grade, operator, etc.). When in range of wifi, the RHC syncs field data to a secure 2nd Sight server. You can then view and download the data from your Customer Portal account.
