The device must be assembled as per the exploded assembly drawing, ensuring all screw connections are tight, moving parts are freely movable, and metal parts are undamaged. Textile components should be free from tears or abrasions, and wear limits of replaceable parts must be checked.
No special maintenance is required, but the device should be cleaned and dried after each use to prevent dirt accumulation and corrosion. Metal components should be oiled with neutral oil like Ballistol for smooth functionality.
A safety assessment of the climbing object and surroundings is necessary before use. Hazards must be eliminated, and factors for rescue actions should be determined, including location features, emergency call availability, and team qualifications.
Equipment should be used at temperatures between -30°C and +40°C. During frost, ensure metal parts remain free from ice. Special weather conditions like heavy rain or strong winds require critical analysis of climbing actions.
The device is for personal protection only. The anchor point must withstand at least 10 kN. The rope system should be positioned above the climber, and climbing should be done with a taut rope to minimize fall risks.
