Harvesting Guidelines:

Aim for 35-45% moisture content.
Minimize delays between harvest and crimping.
Add water if grains are dry.

General Clamp Guidelines:

Minimize aerobic spoilage by double sheeting the clamp with a vacuum barrier film sheet as the underlayer.
Protect the top sheet with a Zill mesh cover and sandbags.
Use a net over the face if birds are a nuisance and control vermin.
Minimize the face area opened at any time and never pull the sheet down over the clamp face once opened.
Scrape down the clamp face to avoid air ingress.

Application Rates:

For maize, wholecrop, and high dry matter grass: 500g per tonne for granular application; 100g sachet treats 20 tonnes for liquid application.
For crimped grain: 1kg per tonne for granular application; 100g sachet treats 10 tonnes for liquid application.

Note: Natural fermentation can waste energy and protein, leaving silage prone to spoilage.
