Product catalog summary
Product Description
The PowerBoard (PB) is a compact and efficient device designed for use in piston engine UAVs alongside a three-phase brushless or brushed generator. It converts generator-supplied power into direct current with low ripple, while also managing the backup battery charge. In the event of generator failure, the backup battery ensures continued operation of critical systems like the autopilot and communications for safe landing. The backup battery can also be used during preflight checks when the engine is off or at low RPMs. External power can be supplied for battery charging on the ground or during preflight checks. If the generator voltage exceeds 30 volts, the PB cuts off the supply to protect electronic systems, switching to battery power. The recommended battery is a 5-cell LiFeP04 16.4V at 18V charging, unless a customized version is used. The PB is housed in a lightweight aluminum extruded case with high-quality industrial connectors, and an IP67 aluminum milled case is available upon request.

COMMERCIAL IN CONFIDENCE PowerBoard_datasheet POWER BOARD DATASHEET PRODUCT DESCRIPTION The PowerBoard (PB) is a small light weight and efficient device to be used in piston engine UAVs in conjunction with a three phase brushless generator or brushed generator. A generator supplies electrical power to the PB which provides direct current with low ripple to the system, managing at the same time the charge of the backup battery. In case of generator failure, the battery is used as the prime power source ensuring that the autopilot and other subsystems like the servos and communications continues turned on for a safe landing. Backup battery can be used also during prefight checks when the engine is turned off or RPMs are low. Also external power can be supplied to charge the battery on ground or for preflight checks. In case that the generator supplies more voltage than the estimated voltage (30 volts), the powerboard cut off the supply to protect the electronic systems. Then battery is used as power source. Battery must be 5 cell LiFeP04 16.4V at 18V charging unless you are using any customized version. The PB is enclosed in a light aluminum extruded case and the connectors used are industrial high quality connectors. IP67 aluminum milled case can be supplied upon request.
