MANUAL CHUTE MAINTENANCE

Product catalog summary
Overview: This document provides maintenance guidelines for the Q-Catch 86 Series and Com-Catch 61 Series cattle chutes by Arrowquip. Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and longevity of the equipment.
Cattle Chute Maintenance:
  • Apply grease to the main pivot point.
  • Ensure bolts on door hammers are correctly tensioned for free movement.
  • Check door roller tension: bolts should be tight but not overly so.
  • Keep all moving parts free of debris and functioning properly.
  • Regularly lubricate moving parts with WD-40, including head gate shaft, rollers, cam-slam latches, rolling door wheels, and squeeze pivot points.
Lock Maintenance:
  • Use WD-40 on lock boxes regularly, including the squeeze lock box and head holder if applicable.
Adjusting the Squeeze Lock Settings:
  1. Loosen jam nuts and back out front and rear bolts.
  2. Engage squeeze to view the release pin.
  3. Adjust back bolt for a 1/4” – 3/8” gap between fandangle and release pin.
  4. Adjust front bolt for clearance between locking collar and box.
  5. Re-tighten jam nuts: tightening reduces push, loosening increases push.

The release pin collar prevents the pin from re-locking the shaft.

Troubleshooting:
  • Use brake cleaner for degreasing and removing build-up.
  • Contact Arrowquip’s Customer Service for assistance at 1-866-383-7827 or [email protected].
