Big Dutchman, in collaboration with Osnabrück University of Applied Sciences and other experts, has developed a new plastic slat specifically for rearing and growing ducks. This innovation aims to enhance hygiene and reduce litter material in duck houses.

Design and Features
The BD plastic slat measures 1200 x 600 mm and is suitable for Muscovy and Pekin ducks. It features a non-slip surface and wide links to provide a secure foothold for ducks, preventing slipping. The slat is designed without sharp edges or corners to protect the sensitive webbed feet of ducks.

Hygiene and Maintenance
The slat's design allows for easy drainage of liquid duck manure, maintaining cleanliness until the end of the grow-out period. The small aperture size (19 x 19 mm) makes it suitable even for day-old ducklings, ensuring optimal hygiene conditions.

Material and Durability
Made from high-quality polypropylene, the slat promises a long service life. It is self-supporting over a distance of up to 3 meters when mounted on standard flat steels (60 x 5 mm).
