Product catalog summary
Overview
Big Dutchman offers two aviary systems, NATURAPrimus and NATURAFilia, designed for the rearing of pullets. These systems are engineered to ensure healthy and uniform growth, preparing pullets for laying aviaries. Both systems are adaptable to meet specific requirements and have been proven effective in the market.

NATURAPrimus
This is a three-level rearing aviary available in various versions to suit different barn dimensions and stocking densities. Key features include:
  • Flexible handling of front grids for easy inspection.
  • Height-adjustable perches and drinkers to maintain hygiene and reduce feed wastage.
  • Automatically folding perches to encourage roosting and reduce manure in aisles.
  • Corrosion-resistant zinc-aluminium coated wire meshes for durability.
  • Foldable partitions for stress-free movement and vaccination.
The system is designed to optimize the rearing environment from day-old chicks to pullets, with specific recommendations for managing temperature and movement within the aviary.

NATURAFilia
This two-level aviary provides ample movement space from the first day, with features such as:
  • Intermediate levels for early training in jumping and flying.
  • Sliding partitions to reduce stress during movement and vaccination.
  • Optimized section dimensions for productivity.
  • Adjustable perches and drinker lines for hygiene and health.
NATURAFilia is particularly suited for lower stocking densities and organic egg production, offering a good price/performance ratio.

Lighting Solutions
Big Dutchman provides a range of lighting solutions to ensure optimal conditions in both rearing and laying periods. Options include moisture-proof lamps and energy-saving LED lamps, which can be dimmed and are flicker-free.

Technical Specifications
The document provides detailed technical specifications for both aviary systems, including dimensions, recommended bird numbers, and aisle widths. It also discusses the suitability of these systems for two-level houses, highlighting the design considerations for manure management and usable space.

NATURAPrimus and NATURA Filia The right aviary for every pullet producer Big Dutchman can offer two different types of aviaries for successful pullet rearing. Both systems have proved their technical maturity in the market and are thus a prerequisite for good rearing results, i.e. uniform and healthy pullets. Pullets that are intended for laying aviaries should always be reared in aviary systems as well. Intensive training from the first day of life is the most important factor in pullet rearing. Only when pullets learn how to move around in an aviary from the very beginning will they have a...

NATURA Primus and NATURA Filia rearing aviaries-3

NATURAPrimus is a rearing aviary which meets the requirements of day-old chicks and pullets in an optimal way. The bottom and centre tiers are equipped with feed and water lines. The top level serves as a resting zone as the pullets instinctively seek out the highest possible place at night. We recommend moving the day-old chicks into the central level, where it is easier to maintain high and uniform temperatures in the first ten days. Half of the birds should be moved into the bottom tier after approximately ten days to provide the birds with more freedom of movement. A heating pipe supplies...

Detailed technical solutions with many benefits for the producer The bottom wires as well as all other wire meshes used in the NATURAPrimus aviary are zinc-aluminium coated. This special alloy resists corrosion much more effectively than other materials, thus guaranteeing a longer service life. The bottom wires have the following mesh widths: – bottom and central tier: 3/4 x 3/4 inches so the chicks have a secure foothold; – top tier: 1 x 1.5 inches for good self- cleaning properties. A perch above the nipple drinkers and the trough protects against dirt. The nipple drinker line can be adjusted...

The two-level rearing aviary provides pullets with much freedom of movement from the very first day NATURAFilia is available in two widths (1866 and 2239 mm). The large distance between the aviary levels makes for a very open design. The farm staff are easily able to access both levels. Feed and water are within easy reach for the birds. The special feature of NATURAFilia is its internal intermediate level, located in the back of both tiers. –> this generates additional system area; –> the birds can jump back and forth from an early age, even if the system is still closed: training as early as...

The mesh width of the bottom wires in both tiers is 3/4 x 3/4 inches. A perch above the nipple drinkers and the trough protects against dirt. The height of the nipple drinker line can be adjusted to the birds‘ growing rate. The perch above the trough can also be adjusted in height so it corresponds to the birds‘ age for increased hygiene and bird health. A sliding...
