Product catalog summary
Warnings for Safe Utilisation
The manual stresses the importance of safety when using the LUMIA 8/16 egg incubator. Key precautions include reading instructions thoroughly, using the correct electrical system, avoiding hot surfaces, and keeping the device away from children and heat sources. It advises against using damaged cables or outdoor use and emphasizes supervision for children or inexperienced users.
Declaration of Conformity
The incubator complies with EU directives on low voltage, electromagnetic compatibility, and ROHS II, meeting safety standards for household electrical appliances.
Presentation of the Manual
This section outlines the manual's structure, including installation, maintenance, and usage instructions, emphasizing the importance of following the manual for high hatching yields.
Incubator Technical Features and Specifications
The LUMIA 8/16 incubator is designed for various bird eggs, made from heat-resistant ABS with antimicrobial properties. It features an automatic egg turning unit, digital temperature control, and a silenced axial fan, operating on a 12VDC power supply.
General Information
The incubator is constructed from durable polymer with antimicrobial additives, using a microprocessor-controlled egg turning unit and a digital PID microcomputer for precise temperature control.
Transport and Handling Instructions
The incubator is easy to transport, requiring no special precautions. Packaging ensures safety, and it is important to retain it for future transport.
Opening the Package
Carefully open the box, remove the incubator from protective materials, and verify contents including the incubator base, antimicrobial caps, hatching grid, egg tray, power supply, and user manual.
Selection and Preservation of Eggs
For optimal hatching, use eggs from your own farm. Allow traveled eggs to rest for 24 hours before incubation. Select eggs from healthy breeders and avoid defects or contamination.
Preparation and Commissioning of the Incubator
Place the incubator in a stable temperature area, avoid direct sunlight, and ensure it is not near chemicals. Set up on a flat surface, fill water nozzles, and ensure proper assembly before connecting to power.
Incubation Process
Maintain an incubation temperature of 37.7°C, reducing to 37.2°C before hatching. Follow species-specific incubation times and humidity guidelines. Do not turn eggs in the final days and increase humidity by filling additional water trays.
Additional Recommendations
Use the automatic SIRIO humidifier for optimal humidity control, check water levels regularly, and rotate egg positions every five days.
Incubation Guidelines for Parrots
Maintain temperature at 37.0°C, fill one tray with water, stop turning eggs three days before hatching, increase humidity, and set temperature to 36.5°C.
Incubation of Palmiped Eggs
From the tenth day, cool eggs daily and spray with water. Disconnect power supply and egg turning unit during this process.
Egg Inspection (Candling)
Optional but delicate, inspect in a dark room using a concentrated light beam at specified intervals.
Chick Hatching
Stop egg turning three days before hatching, place eggs on a blanket, and adjust temperature based on egg type.
First Days of Life
Provide heat and light in a draft-free environment, using a cardboard box or weaning pen with an infra-red lamp.
Common Problems and Solutions
Address issues like non-fecundated eggs and malformations by ensuring proper storage, humidity, and breeder conditions.
Cleaning and Maintenance
Clean and sanitize the incubator after each cycle using bleach or Amuchina, and store in a dry, clean place.
Warranty and After-Sale Service
A 24-month warranty covers defects under normal use, excluding damage from transport, misuse, or unauthorized repairs.

The embryo begins developing before incubation and, therefore, it needs proper care, otherwise there will be a decrease in the hatching percentage. Below are some rules that will be helpful in obtaining suitable eggs for incubation: 1. Collect the eggs at least 5 times a day to prevent environmental contamination. Never incubate eggs that have been at a temperature lower than 5°C or higher than 24°C. Over this figure the germinating cell developing in an abnormal way, it still develops when incubated but the chick will die during hatching! NEVER store the eggs in the refrigerator. 2. Do not incubate...

Remove the cover plate and lay it next to the incubator. Remove the bottom plastic hatching grate, which is not used at the moment (it is only used in hatching, i.e. for the last 3 days). NEVER LEAVE IT IN THE INCUBATOR DURING THE INCUBATION PERIOD! Ensure the egg supports are well positioned in their seats and that the steel tab of the egg turning...
