Product catalog summary
Introduction
Calf-Star LLC introduces the RT10™ Cow-Side SCC, a tool designed to provide instant somatic cell count (SCC) results on the farm or via an iPhone. This tool is aimed at identifying sub-clinical mastitis in cows, offering a cost-effective and time-efficient alternative to traditional lab tests.
Importance of Somatic Cell Count
SCC is a critical indicator of cow health. Low SCC suggests a healthy cow and can lead to milk premiums, while high SCC indicates potential udder infections like mastitis. Extremely high SCC is visible in clinical mastitis cases, where milk is withheld for treatment. Subclinical mastitis, however, presents high SCC without visible symptoms, making it challenging to address.
RT10™ Cow-Side SCC Features
The RT10™ provides accurate SCC readings and indicates potential bacterial causes of high SCC, aiding in mastitis treatment decisions. It allows data exportation for further analysis and decision-making support.
mpengoDairy App
Available on the App Store, this app facilitates sample collection, record-keeping, and result exportation. It supports specific cow identification or bulk tank testing, delivering results in under a minute for prompt management decisions.
