.0 Introduction Profextru have produced this PVC-u Technical Publication to assist engineers in the correct use of Profextru profiles. Profextru has more than 60 years of experience in the production of heavy-duty plastic profiles. Through close cooperation with our international customers, these products produced in the Netherlands are under continuously development and applied worldwide. The raw materials Profextru uses mainly come from plastic frames, windows and doors. Our own residual material is also reused, which minimizes the burden on the environment. This recycled material is...

.4 Metric and Imperial Sizes It is important to note that metric and imperial are two distinct systems, they are not manufactured to compatible dimensions and cannot be interconnected without special adaptors. Profextru Productie BV produces and supplies according to the metric SI system. 2.5 Profile Length Standard profiles are produced in length up to 7.5 meters. For longer lengths, please contact your distributor or the Profextru sales department. Auxiliary profiles are supplied as standard in nominal lengths of 6 meters. Special lengths can be supplied on request. 2.6 Profile Color...

.3 Thermal Expansion Expansion of PVC-u profile as temperature rises can be significant. The expansion of Profextru PVC-u Profile, which is independent of the Profile section, can be determined using the coefficient of linear expansion as in the following formula: Linear expansion coefficient 0.08 mm per degree °C (mm/m.°C) 4.4 Chemical Resistance Profextru profiles has particularly good chemical resistance and can, therefore, be used to handle aggressive liquids including many strong acids, alkalis and organic chemicals. There are various lists with the chemical resistance of PVC-U. >...

.0 Working Characteristics 5.1 Handling, Storage and Transport PVC-u Profiles can become damaged during transport, handling or storage. Care must be taken to ensure that each item is free from damage prior to installation. The use of damaged Profiles may affect the performance of the Profiles, and they should be discarded. 5.1.1 Storage PVC-u profiles will distort under load and this is particularly evident at elevated or uneven temperatures. Whilst this distortion will not affect the performance of the Profile, it may make it difficult to joint. Stacks of Profiles should therefore be...

.3 Temperature Particular care should be taken when installing Profiles at temperatures below 5°C. Profile laying should not be carried out when the temperature is below 5°C. Do not expose profiles to direct heating. The PVC profiles can permanently deform due to temperatures above 65°C. 5.4 Cleaning Combiboard Panels Combiboard profiles have a top layer of calcium zinc stabilized rigid PVC. Due to the variety of existing and new cleaning agents, we cannot judge whether a cleaning agent is suitable. Aggressive and abrasive cleaning agents or methods may cause permanent damage and...

.0 Profile Installation 6.1 General The simplicity of the installation procedure for Profextru Productie BV Profile offers considerable benefits, in particular in terms of time and the resulting cost savings. The following is general information about installation techniques. The response to the load on the profile is not determined by the strength of the profile, but rather by the interaction of the mounting of the profile. It is, therefore, very important that all aspects of the use of profiles, in particular substrate and support, receive special attention when being installed. Allow...
