Lighting
The BDR16 features an innovative lamp bank design that maintains constant light intensity, unaffected by chamber temperature. It uses T5 fluorescent and halogen incandescent lamps with three light levels per type, providing a broad spectrum ideal for plant growth. Standard lighting intensity is 800 micromoles/m2/s, with higher intensities available.

Airflow
Uniform downward airflow is achieved with adjustable fresh air intake and exhaust ports, allowing up to 30 cubic feet per minute of air exchange.

Refrigeration
The chamber is cooled by a self-contained water-cooled condensing unit with hot gas bypass for continuous operation. An electronic modulating valve ensures tight temperature control and quiet operation. Pressure transducers monitor the refrigeration system.

Experiment Protection
User-programmable alarms track chamber operation against set points, providing accurate monitoring. Backup alarms offer additional protection, with visual and audible notifications for alarm activation. The system includes contacts for building management system integration.
