The E7/2 is a dual-compartment plant growth chamber designed for conducting smaller experiments in different environments within a compact space. Each compartment offers over 23 inches (585 mm) of growth height and a total growth area of over 8 ft² (0.7 m³).

Lighting
The chamber features a standard lighting system with a broad light spectrum using fluorescent and incandescent lamps. Excess heat is managed by the refrigeration system, and two light levels per lamp type are available.

Airflow
Airflow is uniformly distributed upward using the Unifloor® air distribution plenum, with a maximum airflow of 50 ft/min (15.2 m/min). The unit includes adjustable fresh air intake and exhaust ports for up to 10 ft³/min (0.57 m³/min) of air exchange.

Refrigeration
The E7/2 uses a self-contained air-cooled condensing unit with hot gas bypass for continuous compressor operation, enhancing compressor life and temperature control. A proportional valve ensures quieter operation and longer system life.

Experiment Protection
User-programmable alarms monitor chamber operation with backup high/low alarms for extra protection. Visual and audible notifications are provided for any triggered alarms.
