COPPER CHELATE™

COPPER CHELATE™

Product catalog summary
Product Overview: Copper Chelate™ is a liquid copper trace mineral supplement designed to enhance the bioavailability of copper in cows. It is presented in a chelated form, which improves retention in the rumen and intestine compared to sulphate forms.
Dosage and Usage: The supplement is available in various pack sizes (20kg, 20L, 100L, 200L, 1000L). Dosage varies based on demand: 2ml per cow per day during peak demand (500 cows per litre) and 1ml per cow per day during non-peak demand (1000 cows per litre). Peak usage is recommended from 30 days before calving until the end of mating.
Physiological Importance: Copper is crucial for forming red blood cells, constructing hair and muscle, and metabolizing proteins. Deficiency symptoms include lameness, scouring, poor growth rates, depressed milk production, and infertility.
Product Composition: The main component is Copper Chelate (14%), with water making up the remainder. The product is designed to be electronically neutral to prevent complexation in the rumen and corrosion of metal.
Additional Features: Copper Chelate™ helps prevent lameness and infertility, increases immunity, and supports general health and reproduction. It can be administered through drenching, trough treatment, or feed supplements.
Contact Information: For more information, contact Deosan at 0800 DEOSAN (33 67 26), fax 07 888 5684, or email [email protected]. Address: 20 Seddon Street, PO Box 8, Waharoa 3441.

MINERAL SUPPLEMENTS COPPER CHELATE MINERAL SUPPLEMENTS COPPER CHELATE LIQUID COPPER TRACE MINERAL SUPPLEMENT Copper Chelate™ liquid is designed to provide copper in an electronically neutral solution so the element will not be complexed in the rumen and will not corrode metal. The requirements for copper in cows varies greatly. LIQUID COPPER TRACE MINERAL SUPPLEMENT PHYSIOLOGICAL IMPORTANCE • Helps to form red blood cells • Important in the construction of hair • LOW COST DOSAGE 2ML PER DAY FOR 100MG OF COPPER INCREASES IMMUNITY, GENERAL HEALTH AND REPRODUCTION CONVENIENT DOSING THROUGH DRENCHING, TROUGH TREATMENT OR ON FEED SUPPLEMENTS OTHER COPPER CHELATE ™ FEATURES • Helps to form red blood cells • Important in the construction of hair and muscle • Key to the utilisation and metabolism of proteins • Helps prevent lameness and infertility CAS-No. Copper Chelate (14%) Water Each litre contains: Copper Peak Demand: 2ml/Cow/Day = 500 cows/litre Non-Peak Demand: 1ml/Cow/Day = 1000 cows/litre When cows are dosed at 2ml/cow/day in the peak demand period they receive: Copper Key to the utilisation and proper metabolism of proteins DEFICIENCY SYMPTOMS • Lameness • Scouring • Poor growth rates • Depressed milk production • Infertility PRODUCT COMPOSITION Components We recommend a peak and non-peak rate of use – the peak rate being 2ml per cow per day from 30 days before calving until the end of mating, the remainder of lactation at 1ml per cow per day. When supplementary feeds are being used that are low in trace elements, e.g. maize, brassicas or cereal silage, peak use rates will be required. WHAT IS A CHELATE? A chelate is a chemical compound containing a metal ion encircled by non-metal ions. In a mineral supplement the presentation of minerals as chelated products helps retain the mineral in the rumen and intestine and thus improves the bioavailability. By comparison the same mineral when presented in a sulphate form passes more readily through the digestive system to be expelled from the body with reduced bioavailability.
