Product Specifications

This document provides technical specifications for DROP filtration units with different inlet/outlet sizes (2", 3", and 4").

Connection and Filtration Surface

  • Connection types: Male (Μ), Female (Φ), and G (G thread)
  • Filtration surface area ranges from 1020 cm² (158.1 in²) for 2" units up to 3060 cm² (474.3 in²) for 4" units.

Flow Capacity and Pressure Limits

  • Flow rates vary by size: 25 m³/h (110 gpm) for 2", 50 m³/h (220 gpm) for 3", and 80 m³/h (352 gpm) for 4" units.
  • Maximum operating pressure is 8 bar (116 psi) for all sizes.

Pressure Drop vs Flow Rate

The pressure drop (ΔP) in psi decreases as flow rate (GPM) decreases, with values ranging from 8.7 psi at the highest flow to 1.4 psi at the lowest flow, indicating the filtration resistance characteristics.

Filter Element Color Coding and Micron/Mesh Ratings

  • Red filter element: 130 micron / 120 mesh
  • Yellow filter element: 100 micron / 155 mesh

Dimensions and Weight

SizeL (mm/in)A (mm/in)H* (mm/in)Weight (kg/lbs)

3"500 / 19.7500 / 19.7470 / 18.523.2 / 51.1
4"700 / 27.5750 / 29.5730 / 28.730.4 / 67.0

Critical Information Summary

  • All units support a maximum pressure of 8 bar (116 psi).
  • Flow capacity scales with size, from 25 to 80 m³/h.
  • Filtration surface area increases with size, improving filtering efficiency.
  • Pressure drop decreases with lower flow rates, important for system design.
  • Filter elements are color-coded for micron/mesh rating identification.
  • Dimensions and weights are provided for installation and handling considerations.

D series-1

General Characteristics Their anti corrosive protection includes surface treatment using phosphoric acids followed by electrostatic polyesteric paint, while other available paint and material options are also available pending request. The product is supplied with multiple couplings and flanges options availability (DIN,ASA, etc) conforminng to all required international standars. DROP Filtration Systems Irrigation Equipment The D series filters are used for surface water filtration, combining reliability and minimum maintenance costs. The disc filters are mainly used in occasions where the contamination particles are lighter than water (eg algae and seaweeds). The main difference of the disc filters in comparison with other screen filters is that the water is filtered by a battery of concentric grooved discs that operates in two stages: the water is primarily filtered by the large outer surface of the cartridge where the larger and heavier particles are withholded followed by the grooved surface of the discs where the smaller and lighterorganic particles are withheld. The main parts of this filter series are the metal body, the internal disc element column and the lid. The filter is cleaned by releasing the discs and washing them with clean water which results in the removal of the algae and seaweeds that have been attached on the grooved surface of the discs. They are available in manual as well as self cleaning filter versions (see DAseries). M = Thread (B.S.P), F = Flange (DIN 2576, PN10), G = Grooved Thread (Victaulic)
