Series SUF-SUFV - Self-cleaning screen filters - 1

Product Specification Sheet: SUF series DROP Filtration Systems Irrigation Equipment SELF CLEANING SCREEN FILTERS SUF series General Characteristics The filtration grade ranges from 4000 to 45 microns. Their anti corrosive protection includes surface treatment using phosphoric acids followed by electrostatic polyesteric paint, while other available paint and material options are also available pending request. The product is supplied with multiple couplings and flanges options availability (DIN,ASA, etc) conforminng to all required international standars. The maximum operating pressure is 10 bars (145 psi). The self-cleaning screen filters are used in filtration situations where we are faced with inorganic particles such as fine sand in medium quantities. The SUF (as well as SUFV) series operate autonomously and are cleaned automatically and eficiently with minimum water consumption with no effect on the filtered water flow rate. The filtration efficiency is high, and they provide the most effective solution for water filtration. Their advantages are their high reliability while maintaining high filtration efficiency in all flow rates, the minimal pressure loss, and the automatic and efficient cleaning that uses the hydraulic pressure of the water, without external power requirements. The SUF series filters are also available in a vertical configuration, the SUFV series. Their automatic operation is based on a two-stage filtration process: The water flows through the inlet and prefiltered by a screen with a low mesh density(l) followed by another screen with higher mesh density(2) and consequetively flows out of the filter. By the increase of the concentration of particles in the internal surface of the screen a pressure difference is created. The pressure difference along the screen(2), activates the cleaning process. When the pressure difference exceeds a pre-set value, the controller orders the waste valve to open(3) creating a strong cleaning water flow rate from the drain outlet to the atmosphere. This flow creates a suctive force to the jets(4), cleaning the surface of the screen directly in front of the jets. Henceforth the contaminated water flows through the collecting axis(5) to the rotating pipe(6) and then to the drain valve, forcing the collecting axis to move rotatively. The pressure difference between the rotating system and the drain forces the shaft(7) to move the collecting axis in a linear way. The combination of rotating and linear movement ensures that the jets will spray all the surface of the screen while the cleaning cycle lasts for 30 seconds.
