Product Overview: BetaMaxx DT is a cover crop mix specifically designed for sugar beet rotations. It serves as an alternative to the N-Fixx mix, particularly in conditions where buckwheat is not suitable. The mix includes common vetch, which enhances soil bacteria to protect plants from pathogens, and allows sugar beets to grow the following year without ploughing, improving sowing accuracy and reducing forked roots.
Benefits: Early indications suggest that BetaMaxx can significantly increase sugar beet yields compared to using oil radish as a cover crop. It is also suitable for vegetable cultivation and combined oilseed rape and beet rotations due to the absence of cruciferous plants.
Recommendations: For areas infested with Heterodera schachtii, it is advised to switch to BetaSola.
Composition: The mix is composed of Egyptian clover, Deeptill radish, field pea, phacelia, niger, bristle oat, common vetch, linseed, Persian clover, Serredella, and abyssinian mustard. If a specific variety is unavailable, it will be replaced with an equivalent.
Cultivation Instructions: The recommended sowing rate is 30 – 35 kg/ha, with sowing to be completed by the end of August.
