Product catalog summary
Introduction
The document discusses the shift from petrol to battery-powered equipment in grounds maintenance, highlighting the environmental benefits and performance improvements of battery technology. Despite the advantages, petrol remains the preferred choice for many professionals due to lingering doubts about battery power.

Battery Technology
Recent advancements in battery technology have been significant, driven by major automotive manufacturers. Modern batteries offer improved performance, power, and run-times, rivaling and often exceeding petrol alternatives. The EGO Power Plus’s PRO X range exemplifies these advancements.

Noise & Vibration
Battery-powered equipment reduces noise and vibration levels, addressing health and safety concerns associated with petrol-powered tools. This is particularly important for public sector contracts, which are increasingly prioritizing environmental and safety standards.

Emissions
Battery-powered tools significantly reduce emissions compared to petrol tools. For example, a petrol brush cutter emits 11 times more CO2 than a Ford Fiesta. The EU's Green Public Procurement (GPP) guidelines promote low-emission technologies, pushing for a transition away from petrol.

Connectivity
The document does not provide specific details on connectivity but implies that modern battery-powered equipment may offer enhanced connectivity features.

Financial
While the initial investment in battery-powered equipment may seem high, the long-term cost benefits, including reduced environmental impact and compliance with GPP guidelines, make it a financially viable option.

Summary
The document concludes that while the transition to battery power is underway, many professionals remain hesitant due to perceived costs. However, the environmental and performance benefits, along with regulatory pressures, suggest that battery power is the future for grounds maintenance equipment.

CONTENTS INTRODUCTION BATTERY TECH NOISE & VIBRATION In a recent survey of people using grounds maintenance equipment, 84% said that everyone should do their bit to reduce pollution, with 60% saying that a switch to electric power tools would be helpful. We also asked professionals what qualities they most looked for in equipment. The top three were performance (44%), power (43%) and value for money (36%). BRUSH CUTTER EMITS 11X MORE CO2 THAN A FORD FIESTA 2 CONTENTS. Yet even though battery-powered equipment delivers exceptional performance, power, and value (as we’ll demonstrate), and also eradicates pollution at the source, petrol remains the ‘go-to’ fuel of choice for professionals. This is despite some staggering statistics, including the fact that a petrol brush cutter emits 11x more CO2 than a Ford Fiesta [1]. A switch from petrol to battery power can enable users to have the same, and in some cases improved performance, power and value for money. From what we know working closely with the professional sector, however, making that switch isn’t quite as easy as it sounds. It’s clear that for commercial users, some doubts about battery power remain. [1] The Report, Attitude and usage of battery vs petrol, a compilation of analysis and data, Challenge 2025 & EGO
