Visco-Elastic Support (VES) Overview
ITT Enidine has developed the Visco-Elastic Support (VES) product line to address these issues. VES improves the dynamic behavior of the rotor-bearing system and reduces thermal forces on bearing support structures. It provides high dynamic stiffness, supplementary damping, and low static stiffness, which reduces the generator's dynamic response and prevents excessive thermal force transfer to civil structures. This extends the life of the generator and structure while increasing power plant efficiency.
Technical Specifications
The VES product line includes models VES100A, VES150A, VES200A, and VES250A, each with specific technical parameters such as total stroke, preload at set point, nominal damping constant, maximum force, dynamic stiffness, and static stiffness. The flange dimensions for each model are also specified.
