Product catalog summary
Dehorning Procedure:
  • When to Dehorn: Perform dehorning as early as possible, ideally before calves reach 4 weeks and kids 2 weeks.
  • Preparation: Immobilize the animal in a cattle crush. Shave around the horn bud to clearly see its location, prevent hair from entering the wound, and ensure effective cauterization.
  • During Dehorning: Apply the dehorner tip to the horn bud to cauterize blood vessels and stop growth. Avoid tearing off the horn bud to limit infection risk. The horn bud will naturally dry and fall off.
  • Post-Dehorning: Inspect the cauterization ring for a 5 mm deep groove around the horn bud, ensuring no skin connection. Apply antiseptic and repellent spray.
  • Recommendations: Use tranquilizers or local anesthetic for animal comfort. Administer long-acting anti-inflammatory drugs to mitigate negative effects like loss of appetite or isolation. Avoid dehorning during other treatments.
Additional Product Information:
  • Portable Hair Remover: TERRA, a portable thermal hair remover, improves hygiene by preventing germs and bacteria, thus enhancing milk quality. It operates with a 'cool flame' for painless hair removal in less than 4 seconds per cow.
  • Dehorner Features: Lightweight, economical, and compatible with gas cylinders. It includes a reversible tip, built-in piezo ignition, and safety lock for storage. Effective up to -10°C with a 2-hour autonomy and 3-second cauterization per horn bud.
