This Technical Description and Operating Instruction is intended to familiarize with the machine and principles of its operation (use, technical service, transport and storage) by mechanics and other operating personnel. 3. Design and operation of the potato planter Figure 1. KSM-1 Potato Planter consists of the following basic units (Figure 1): frame 1, earthing-up plough 2, drive shaft 3 from wheel 10, scrapers 4, bin 5, limiters 6, chain puller 7, chain wheels 8, cover 9, resistance and driving wheels 10. KSM-1 Potato Planter can be equipped with a fertilizer distributor at the customer's request. Fertilizer distributor designed for KSM-1 Potato Planter consists of a fertilizer tank with a brush distributor inside, a mounting bracket for frame of the potato planter and chain drive. While the potato planter is driving, the fertilizer distributor is activated by a chain transmission and fertilizers are sown into the ridge. The sowing disc at the rear of the bin adjusts fertiliser sowing rate. The sowing rate is 200 - 400 kg/ha (15-30 g per running meter).

6. Security requirements 1. Strict compliance with health and safety rules is mandatory for persons operating the machine and the two-wheeled tractor. 2. Before using the machine coupled with the two-wheeled tractor: • Make sure that the buckets are suspended on the chain with right planting distance; • Make sure that there are no foreign objects in the machine. • Watch the scrapers during machine operation. 3.
