Product catalog summary
Product Overview
Hexa-Cover® Oil & Gas Duty is a floating cover system designed for use in the oil and gas industry. The covers are hexagonal with symmetric ribs, allowing them to distribute evenly on liquid surfaces, forming a barrier that reduces odors and vapors. They are lightweight and interlock to create an integrated matrix.

Design Features
  • Reduces tank vent emissions such as BTEX (Benzene, Toluene, Ethylbenzene, and Xylene).
  • Lowers vapor load on VRU systems, potentially eliminating the need for additional equipment.
  • Reduces water vapor and associated VOCs, minimizing odor issues.
  • Decreases heat loss, lowering operating costs.
  • Provides insulation for heated crude oil tanks, reducing costs for CHOPS facilities.
  • Reduces offensive and carcinogenic BTEX odors.
  • Minimizes tank head space corrosion by lowering humidity levels.
  • Potentially eliminates the need for defoaming chemicals.
  • Reduces energy required to reach optimal process temperatures.
  • Decreases water vapor generation as steam.

Material and Compatibility
  • Chemically compatible with conventional and heavy oil components up to 100°C.
  • Resistant to weight gain and thermal shock, tested from -40°C to +100°C.
  • Polymer classified as static dissipative with a surface resistivity of 3.7 x 109 Ω sq.
  • Can be installed in operational tanks.

Applications
  • Suitable for various oil and gas tanks, including conventional crude oil, frac oil, gasoline, diesel, thermal heavy oil, SAGD diluted bitumen, sour sand slurry tanks, process water ponds, purified tailings ponds, frac water tanks, API separators, and boiler feed water.

Installation
Hexa-Covers® can be installed in existing fixed roof tanks through a 200mm opening. They have been used in Western Canada to reduce BTEX emissions.

Hexa-Cover® Oil & Gas Duty is perfect on almost any type of Oil & Gas tank Hexa-Cover® Oil & Gas Duty are designed as hexagonal shapes with symmetric ribs on both sides. The ribs allow for the floating structures to distribute naturally and uniformly on the liquid surface without overlapping to form an interconnecting blanket barrier at the surface of the heavy oil, impeding odors and vapors. A low density ensures that the Hexa-Cover® will float above the surface of the heavy oil liquid. A special Helical scalloped edge allows the Hexa-Cover® to interlock and form an integrated matrix.
