Modern Komatsu forwarders can trace their design origins back to models from the 1990s. The 840, for example, was upgraded with a 6-cylinder engine to become the 860. This period also heralded the birth of Komatsu's successful forwarder concept, which is based on ideas such as a low centre of gravity and an articulated joint facing the same direction as the rear frame. And thanks to this concept, Komatsu still offers the moststable forwarders on the market.
