The Lely Grazeway Return Box The Grazeway return box enables the registration of cows returning from the pasture to the barn, or from the barn to the pasture. Cows can only open the gates of the Grazeway R in one direction. Each cow has an identification tag. The Grazeway R has a cow identification system and detects the ID of each cow returning into the barn (or going to the pasture). This ID is sent to T4C, the Lely farm management software. General Description The Grazeway return box is a portal with a Texas gates. All cows must wear unique tags. When the cow opens the Texas gate and walks through the return box the cows tag is identified by the ISO cow identification system. The time and ID of the cow is sent to the T4C farm management software. The cow exits through the second Texas gate. The Grazeway R is installed between the barn and the pasture. Figure 3. The ISO identification reader has a Velos control box and an antenna PCB, which both are installed inside the control box. The antenna is a ring through which the cow steps before she goes through the second Texas gate.
