Higher water storage LITE-NET vegetation net for slopes improve plant growth and reduce erosion. They are based on thick nonwoven geotextile which are cut in a way that they can be extended to a multiple of their original size when placed in-situ. As they consist of approx. 90% open voids, they can store a great amount of water. Investigations carried out at the Vienna BOKU University have shown that LITE-NET can store as much water than conventional coir mats, post 24 hours even 6 times as much. The investigations at the BOKU University yielded that the plant cover rates of LITE-NET is more than 50% higher than that of a coir mat. In addition, due to the high flexibility of the patented nonwoven net it can adapt perfectly to all irregularities of the slope surface, thereby reducing erosion significantly. The cost effective vegetation nets are supplied in two basic variants: Biologically degradable with wooden fibres and long-term resistant with synthetic fibres. Installation is perfectly easy.
