CrimperRoller

Product catalog summary
Introduction
The Crimperroller is a versatile agricultural tool designed to crush green manure crops and process the soil surface. It features chevron-patterned blades that cut and crush plants, interrupting their growth. This process helps the cover crop mulch compete with weeds, improve soil structure, enhance nutrient content, and conserve soil moisture. The drum can be filled with water for additional weight, making it suitable for various types of green manure, cover crops, and stubble.
Key Features
  • Compatible with cultivators or direct drilling machines in a single passage.
  • Economic and environmentally friendly.
  • Quickly degrading cover crop mulch improves nutrient and soil carbon content.
  • Maintains soil moisture and competes effectively with weeds.
  • Enables high capacity operations.
Concept Development
Developed in collaboration with European farmers, the Crimperroller + Kvickfinn concept allows for the processing of cover crops and mechanical weed control in one passage before sowing. Two alternatives are presented for crop rotation:
Alternative 1: Process a cover crop before sowing a spring or fall crop using a front-mounted Crimperroller and a rear-mounted Kvickfinn. This combination finishes the cover crop, leaving plant residues on the surface, followed by sowing with a disc seeder.
Alternative 2: Manage a short summer tread with 3–4 crossings of Kvickfinn at 2–3 week intervals to combat weeds. Sow a fast-growing green manure crop, and after 2–3 months, establish a fall crop with a Crimperroller and direct drill. The green manure crop provides nutrition, retains soil moisture, and offers weed protection.

Together with European farmers, Lyckegård has developed the concept of Crimperroller + Kvickfinn The concept involves processing of cover crops and mechanical weed control in one passage before sowing. We present two alternatives to add to your crop rotation. Timing and method depend on the presence of perennial weeds. Alternative 1: Processing of a cover crop prior to sowing a spring or fall crop with a front mounted Crimperroller and a rear mounted Kvickfinn. The combination finishes the cover crop and plant residues are left on the surface. After that, sowing can be carried out with a disc...
