a) Mash Heating Mash heating, in particular for ultra heat treatment up to 85°C, has been available since the sixties and today has rendered indispensable in all wineries. As no other method it allows the preparation of large quantities of redwine mash in a short time. Steam is more powerful. In contrast to hot water steam only requires one third of the heating area and has a three times higher efficiency! Strong stain and sullage in the interior such as tartar are removed without efforts through steam. Steam is simply induced into the tank via pipes. For thorough cleaning 1 kg steam per m3 capacity is sufficient. A relatively small steam boiler type S 350 is able to clean up to 400m3 tank volume (4000 hl) per hour without chemicals only using mere heat. Stain loosens and can be washed out easily after steaming. Surfaces are treated with care and are properly sanitized through heat. f) Heating / Hot Water Generation MSD steam boilers are ideal for hot water generation e.g. used for heating. Modern heat exchanging systems and the simple changeover of the steam boiler for hot water supply allow an energy efficient use of the machine all year long.
