This machine features a 3-strand hydraulic folding live deck for processing logs up to 20 ft (6.1m). This industry workhorse is professionally designed for maximum performance and low maintenance. With a 4.5 second cycle time, this machine will efficiently cut and split your hardwood logs into saleable firewood. The circular saw is 20% faster than comparable bar & chain machines and significantly less maintenance. The 1620 SS is professionally engineered to be the most efficient, safest, and operator friendly mid-size machine available today. The machine features a patent pending guillotine style circular saw with an insert tooth style carbide tip and a low fuel consuming 44 hp (33 kw) Kubota diesel engine. This saw blade does not need saw lubrication like bar & chain style machines, and only requires saw maintenance every 500 hours. The carbide insert saw teeth ensure maximum cutting efficiency and minimum maintenance. They are easily replaceable without removing the blade from the machine. Operator Ergonomics & Safety The operator of the machine is behind a safety shield allowing clear visibility of the complete process. The machine is operated with two four-way joysticks that handle the operating functions of the machine, making it very simple to operate while wearing gloves and other recommended safety gear. For our European Union customers, the 1620 SS is available with the CE Mark to comply with safety measures set forth by the European Economic Area. The 1620 SS is one of the safest firewood processors available. High Performance Guaranteed The 1620 SS is designed to process 2 to 3 cords of cut & split firewood per hour. The 40" sawblade turns at 1250 RPM and allows the operator to cut and split at the same time, decreasing cycle time and increase production time. The 44 hp (33kw) Kubota diesel engine provides enough torque for to operate all of the functions at the same time optimizing operator productivity and maximum throughput of finished product. The 3-strand hydraulic powered log deck is rugged built and has custom log flippers allowing only one log into the log infeed trough at one time.
