Product catalog summary
Overview: Nelson Irrigation provides a range of part-circle sprinkler options designed for center pivot irrigation systems. These include the PC-Rotator, PC-Spinner, and PC-Sprayhead, available in both the 3000 and 3030 series, each with specific nozzle types (3TN and 3NV respectively).
Specifications: The 3030 series features the universal adapter U3030, while the 3000 series uses the 3TN nozzle. The part-circle sprinklers are suitable for dry wheel track solutions, hose boom applications, or as an end-of-system addition.
PC-Rotator: This model should be mounted on a straight rigid drop or hose boom with a torque clip and side-force control fitting. It offers a wide throw, high uniformity, and a wind-fighting pattern, making it ideal for pivot corner irrigation.
PC-Spinner: Designed to distribute water in a semicircle, minimizing application on pivot towers. It uses a stream deflector for directional control and operates at 10-20 PSI with a 3TN or 3NV nozzle.
PC-Sprayhead: Features a 170° arc with a low trajectory and medium groove spray plate for wind penetration and wide throw. It operates at 6-20 PSI and is mounted on a rigid drop assembly.
Performance and Benefits: The PC-Rotator provides superior water application with controlled rotation, minimizing runoff and soil erosion. The part-circle design helps solve wheel track problems by directing water away from pivot structures, maintaining field uniformity.
Installation and Design: Part-circle sprinklers can be installed on boombacks or straight drops. Proper planning and orientation are crucial for optimal performance, especially in systems with conventional full-circle sprinklers.
Warranty: Nelson Part Circle Sprinklers are warranted for one year against defects in materials and workmanship under normal use. The warranty is limited to replacement or repair of defective parts.
Additional Considerations: Part-circle sprinklers should be mounted on rigid drops or hose booms to prevent excessive movement. They are not a complete solution for traction, rutting, or runoff issues, especially on steep slopes or heavy soils.

SMART OPTIONS FOR COMMON CHALLENGES SOLVE WHEEL TRACK PROBLEMS Excessive water in the wheel tracks can cause slippage of the tires, causing the system to slow down in wet areas and steep slopes — increasing the application depth in relation to other parts of the fields. Deep wheel track ruts are also detrimental to the equipment and harvesting efficiency. Nelson part circle sprinklers direct the water off of the pivot structure at the towers and away from the wheel track to prevent deep wheel track ruts. Overall field uniformity can be maintained by preventing excessive slippage of the tires,...

PART CIRCLE SPINNER The Part Circle Spinner distributes water to one side in an approximate semicircle. It can be used to minimize application on pivot towers or other structures. The Part Circle Spinner utilizes the 3TN nozzle (PC-S3000) or 3NV Nozzle (PC-S3030). The directional control is provided by a ‘stream deflector’ which is inserted between the nozzle and the spinner body. OPERATING SPECS: • 10-20 PSI (0.7-1.4 bar) • #14-#40 3TN or 3NV Nozzle • Mount on a rigid drop assembly PERFORMANCE: 190° Arc (varies slightly with flowrate) Gentle, Rain-like Droplets High Uniformity Low Instantaneous...

DESIGNING WITH PART CIRCLE SPRINKLERS PART-CIRCLE SPRINKLERS CAN BE INSTALLED IN A VARIETY OF CONFIGURATIONS INSTALLATIONS ON BOOMBACKS MINIMIZE THE COMPROMISE IN UNIFORMITY THAT OCCURS WHEN PARTCIRCLE DEVICES ARE UTILIZED. STRAIGHT DROPS INSTALLATIONS ON STRAIGHT DROPS REQUIRE CAREFUL ADJUSTMENT OF THE ORIENTATION. STEP 1: PLAN THE SYSTEM WITH CONVENTIONAL FULL CIRCLE SPRINKLERS. For Linears/Laterals select sprinkler spacing and determine the nozzle size to deliver your desired application rate. For pivot systems, planning should include a Sprinkler Package Chart.
