Product catalog summary
Introduction
This manual provides essential guidelines for the safe and efficient use of various agricultural machinery attachments. It emphasizes the importance of understanding the manual to ensure safety and extend the service life of the equipment.
Safety
Key safety measures include having only one operator during use, ensuring safety pins and bolts are secure, and verifying that the combined weight of the attachment and load does not exceed the machine's capacity. Regular checks for oil leaks and secure connections are necessary. Hydraulic systems should be depressurized before maintenance, and personal protective equipment should be worn when sharpening blades.
Pre-Check / Hydraulics
Before using attachments, ensure hydraulic pressure does not exceed 200 bar. Sequence valves may need adjustment based on machine specifications. Blades should be clean and sharp, and all hydraulic connections secure.
Description of Safety Warnings
Warnings include keeping animals away from blades, maintaining blade sharpness, and adhering to hydraulic pressure limits. Regular greasing and checking for pinch points are emphasized.
Hitching / Unhitching
Ensure hooks and pins are in working condition before hitching. Attachments should be centered and securely locked. Bolt-on brackets allow for attachment changes and should be checked periodically for secure fastening.
Sharpening Blades
Blades must be sharpened before first use and weekly thereafter using a flat file. Angle grinders should not be used as they can damage the blade's temper.
Warranty
ProDig offers a 12-month warranty against defects in materials and workmanship. The warranty is void if the product is misused or modified. Warranty claims require detailed information and may involve returning the product to the manufacturer.
Shear Genius
The Shear Genius models are designed for different farm sizes and are suitable for use with tractors, telehandlers, or loaders. Proper positioning of bales is crucial for effective operation, and the grab should securely hold the bale before moving it.
Overview
This document provides detailed operating instructions, storage guidelines, and maintenance procedures for various agricultural machinery, including the Shear Genius, Mega Bite, Shear Grab, Tractor Tine Grab, Telehandler Tine Grab, Tractor Grapple Bucket, Telehandler Grapple Bucket, and Bag Filler Bucket. Each section outlines specific instructions tailored to the machine's design and intended use.
Shear Genius
Equipped with sequence valves preset to 200 bar, adjustable for different machine pressures. Features a plastic grip cover adjustable for different bale sizes. Operating instructions emphasize even load distribution and avoiding oversized loads. Storage involves cleaning, greasing, and covering the machine. Maintenance requires daily greasing and regular blade sharpening.
Mega Bite
Available in models 1500, 1800, 2200, and 2500, designed for various farm sizes. Includes sequence valves and an adjustable plastic grip cover. Operating instructions focus on secure bale handling and proper pressure application. Storage and maintenance procedures are similar to the Shear Genius, with emphasis on greasing and blade care.
Shear Grab
General operating instructions for silage handling, emphasizing proper alignment and pressure application. Storage and maintenance guidelines include cleaning, greasing, and blade maintenance. Advises against using the Shear Grab for lifting loads taller than its closed height.
Tractor and Telehandler Tine Grab
Designed for small to large tractors and telehandlers, these grabs handle loose agricultural materials. Operating instructions stress safe handling and avoiding contact with livestock. Storage and maintenance involve cleaning, greasing, and replacing worn tines.
Tractor and Telehandler Grapple Bucket
Suitable for handling loose materials but not for lifting solid materials. Operating instructions highlight safe handling practices. Storage and maintenance procedures are similar to other equipment, focusing on cleaning and greasing.
Bag Filler Bucket
Designed for filling bulk bags, this bucket requires proper fitting and handling. Operating instructions detail the filling and transportation process. Emphasizes ensuring the machine is appropriately sized and fitted with counterbalance weights.
Maintenance Procedures
Remove lodged material and apply grease to exposed ram and all grease points. Cover the attachment with a waterproof cover or store indoors to protect from elements.
Inspection and Replacement
Regularly inspect wear points on the machine, including tines, cutting edge, and wear pads. Replace worn components to maintain structural integrity. Check hydraulic items for wear and leakage, and contact ProDig for replacement parts.
Storage Instructions
Place the Mega Bite on a level surface and disconnect it from the machine after turning off the engine and applying the brake. Clean thoroughly and cover with a waterproof cover or store indoors. Apply grease to blade surfaces and hydraulic cylinder chrome rod when not in use for extended periods.
