Product catalog summary
Soil Fertility and Forage Management
Sorghum thrives in fertile soils. It is crucial to ensure adequate potassium levels, especially in acidic soils. Nitrogen application should not exceed 110 kg/ha. Conducting an independent soil test before sowing is recommended.
Grazing and Cutting Guidelines
Avoid grazing or cutting sorghum when the plant height is below 15 cm. The first grazing or cutting should occur when the plant reaches approximately 1 meter to enhance productivity. Be cautious of prussic acid (HCN) poisoning, particularly when crops are less than 60 cm high, moisture-stressed, or frosted. Optimal cutting or grazing height is between 60–120 cm to maintain quality.
Seeding Recommendations
Sow seeds shallowly in adequately moistened soil. For marginal dryland, use a seeding rate of 5–10 kg/ha. For favorable dryland or irrigation, use 10–20 kg/ha, with the highest rate recommended for irrigation.
SW-F200 Sorghum Sudan Hybrid
SW-F200 is a fast-growing, fine-leafed hybrid known for its excellent palatability. It is suitable for grazing, hay, cut & carry, and silage. The hybrid features a high leaf-to-stem ratio and quick regrowth, allowing for multiple cuttings.
