CONVISO® SMART SYSTEM

CONVISO® SMART SYSTEM

CONVISO® SMART SYSTEM

Product catalog summary
Overview: The CONVISO® SMART System is an innovative approach to sugar beet weed control, combining ALS-tolerant sugar beet varieties with the CONVISO® ONE herbicide. This system offers reliable efficacy, simplifies farm management, increases flexibility, and ensures crop safety.
CONVISO® ONE Herbicide: This ready-to-use liquid formulation contains two ALS-inhibitor compounds: Foramsulfuron (50 g/L) for leaf activity and Thiencarbazone-methyl (30 g/L) for both leaf and soil activity. It controls a wide range of broadleaf and grass weeds with a residual effect lasting 10-20 days. The maximum dose rate is 1.0 L/ha per year.
Mechanism of Action: In ALS-tolerant sugar beet, the herbicide does not bind to the enzyme that interferes with the production of branch-chain amino acids, allowing the crop to grow while weeds die.
SV Sugar Beet Seeds: ALS tolerance was naturally found in one individual out of 1.5 billion and integrated into SV commercial sugar beet varieties through classic breeding methods. CONVISO® SMART hybrids will be launched progressively across various segments.
Application Strategies: Three strategies are outlined: Standard, Drought/Big Weeds Anti-Resistance, and Veronica Anti-Resistance. The recommended approach is a split application of 2 x 0.5 L/ha with a 10-14 day interval. A one-shot application of 1.0 L/ha is also possible.
Mixing Partners: CONVISO® ONE can be mixed with classic herbicides to control larger weeds or as an anti-resistance strategy. Adding oil under drought conditions can enhance uptake.
Benefits and Features: The system offers broad and reliable efficacy against common weeds, simplifies management by reducing applications, increases flexibility with a wide application window, and ensures crop safety through specific ALS tolerance.
Conclusion: The CONVISO® SMART System enhances sugar beet production by providing best tolerance, utilizing full yield potential, offering broad weed control, reducing herbicide applications, and providing a wide and flexible application window.
