Introduction
The Aitchison GrassFarmer Drills are designed to create an optimal environment for seed germination and root establishment while controlling existing sward growth. They are ideal for rotational 'stitching-in' of new grasses and clovers and can also be used for complete pasture renovation.

Specifications
The GrassFarmer models are compact, lightweight, and require low horsepower. They feature a row of discs that slice open the sward, followed by Aitchison boots on staggered spring-tines. An optional chain covering harrow can be added for a better finish. The hopper with a sponge seed-metering system allows for sowing various mixtures, including low-rate clover seeding.

Background and Development
The Aitchison slot-seeding system was developed in New Zealand in the early 1970s to rejuvenate pasture-land efficiently without ploughing and with minimal chemical use. The inverted T-slot created by the Aitchison boot is contrasted with the V-slot made by conventional disc drills.
