Optical sorting Machinery > Optical sorting The heart of the whole processing plant is the optical sorting machine, as it assures our customers’ buyers constant quality over time, also guaranteeing a reduction in waste and a considerable increase in pro ts. In order to guarantee the best computational performance, each line of the sorting machine is controlled by 1 dedicated industrial PC that can process more than 3.7 GBytes of information in real time. Each PC with Linux system manages 9 video cameras that take 108 images per fruit at 15 fruits/sec., for a total of 1620 shots. The combination of all hardware and software components allows us to classify the fruit by: internal and external quality, colour, shape, diameter, density and weight, analysing the whole of the product surface 360°.
