Instructions This section explains how to use the C-PRO Making a Measurement NB: Inspect the two parts of the grinder to ensure that they are clean and empty 1 TURN ON DEVICE Press and hold the Power button 2 SELECT ‘Measure’ and chose a crop-type: 3 Fill the sample into the grinder The sample size is measured out in the built-in measuring cup in the upper part of the grinder (9ml and 11ml). Measure out the required quantity of the crop to be tested and pour it into the grinder. The quantity required is shown on the display.

4 Grind the sample and press the ‘TEST’ button Screw on the upper part of the grinder and rotate it clockwise until the two stops meet. It is important to rotate to this point in order to obtain the correct test result. Press the ‘TEST’ button immediately after grinding. The display will show the moisture content of the sample tested, the temperature and the average of the latest measurements The analyser will take ~10sec to measure the moisture content and calculate the temperature compensation and hereafter display the result. A new reading can be made by emptying and cleaning the test...

5 Read the results on the result screen Adjusting the Calibration of the Meter C-PRO is factory calibrated for every crop using the official methods for measuring moisture content as compiled by ISTA (International Seed Testing Association). The calibration scales are compiled using samples of crops grown in normal conditions. Differing growth factors between years and between varieties can have an effect on the electrical characteristics of the crop and it can, therefore, be necessary to recalibrate the meter. C-PRO Settings The C-PRO has a settings screen that can be reached by doing the following: 1. TURN ON DEVICE: Press and hold the Power button 2. Use the arrow-keys to choose the menu Settings Possible settings are described below Bluetooth In the Bluetooth menu, the Bluetooth functionality can be turned off. To use the smartphone app with the C-PRO this function must be turned on. No of Samples This setting determines how many of the latest samples are used to compute average values. Using the C-PRO with a Smartphone The C-PRO can be used together with a smartphone via the App SA Moisture Connect available for Android and iOS. This section contains information on using the C-PRO together with SA Moisture Connect. Installing the App ‘SA Moisture Connect’ The app for C-PRO is called ‘SA Moisture Connect’ and is designed in a very user-friendly way. Using the App (SA Moisture Connect) View all historical measurements on a smartphone When the C-PRO has transferred all the data (‘synced’) you will have all measurements listed according to the time when the measurements were performed. NOTE: If a measurement was made when the C-PRO was not connected to a smartphone, the measurement will be assigned a timestamp upon synchronisation. Battery The meter is supplied with a 9-volt alkaline battery. This should be installed in the compartment on the underside of the meter. When the battery is in need of replacement the message Replace battery will appear on the display. Only replace it with a high quality 9-volt alkaline battery. Removing the battery has no effect on the information stored in the meter.
