Introduction
Trojan Technologies is a leader in UV technology for wastewater treatment, with the TrojanUV4000Plus™ system offering a high-capacity, chemical-free disinfection solution using high-intensity, medium-pressure lamp technology.
System Features
The TrojanUV4000Plus™ is designed for large wastewater flows of 10 MGD and greater, using fewer lamps than low-pressure systems, making it compact and suitable for low UV transmittance applications. It treats various wastewater types, including primary, secondary, and blended effluents.
System Components
  • System Control Center (SCC): Monitors and controls UV functions with a touch-screen interface.
  • Submerged Effluent Reactor: Ensures consistent disinfection with high-intensity UV light.
  • Power Distribution Center (PDC): Provides power and monitors system data.
  • ActiClean™ Cleaning System: Prevents fouling of UV lamp sleeves with a chemical/mechanical cleaning system.
Key Benefits
  • Environmentally friendly, using UV light without creating disinfection by-products.
  • Proven performance with over 375 installations and regulatory endorsements.
  • Reduced installation costs and operator-friendly maintenance.
  • Optimized for efficient operation with high-efficiency ballasts and dose pacing.
Design Flexibility
The system is compact, minimizing installation costs and allowing easy retrofit into existing facilities, requiring less space than chlorine disinfection systems.
System Specifications
  • Capable of treating various wastewater applications, including primary, secondary, and tertiary effluents.
  • Uses medium-pressure, polychromatic UV lamps for effective disinfection.
  • Features a user-friendly PLC-based controller for system monitoring and control.
Specifications
No air conditioning or forced air required. Wetted parts are made of 316 SST; non-wetted parts are made of 304 SST. Maximum ambient temperature is 122˚ F (50˚C).
Sleeve Cleaning System
The ActiClean™ Cleaning System is dual-action, chemical/mechanical, programmable for automated cleaning at defined intervals, with manual override. The ActiClean™-WW Gel is non-corrosive and operator-friendly.
System Control Center
Various PLC options are available. UV intensity monitoring includes 1 sensor per bank. Inputs required/optional include a 4-20 mA flow signal and a 4-20 mA UVT signal. Typical outputs provided include bank status, common alarms, and SCADA communication. Maximum distance from UV channel is 500 ft. (152 m).
Electrical Requirements
Power Distribution Centers operate at 50/60 Hz, 277/480V, 3 phase, 4 wire + ground or 50/60 Hz, 230/400V, 3 phase, 4 wire + ground. The Hydraulic System Center operates at 50/60 Hz, 120V, single phase, 2 wire + ground or 50/60 Hz, 230V, single phase, 2 wire + ground. The System Control Center operates at 50/60 Hz, 120V, single phase, 2 wire + ground or 50/60 Hz, 230V, single phase, 2 wire + ground.
