Introduction
This document provides detailed instructions and safety precautions for operating a loader, including guidelines for filling, lifting, dumping, and transporting loads, as well as specific warnings to prevent accidents and equipment damage.
Warranty Registration
To validate warranty protection, the Delivery and Warranty Registration forms must be completed and signed. The serial number of the loader is crucial for obtaining replacement parts and should be recorded.
Filling the Bucket
Approach the pile with a level bucket and lift it by easing the lever back. Efficiency is increased by maintaining a level bucket throughout the lifting cycle.
Lifting the Loader
Never lift or carry people in the bucket. Ensure the material cannot roll out when the bucket is raised. Avoid overhead obstructions and keep the bucket positioned to prevent spillage.
Towing Operation
Do not use the front-end loader for towing. Operating on a hillside is dangerous and requires extreme care.
Dumping the Bucket
Lift the bucket high enough to clear the vehicle side and dump it by moving the tractor close to the vehicle.
Carrying the Load
Position the bucket below the tractor hood level for stability and visibility. Drive at reduced speeds, especially on slopes, to maintain stability.
Lowering the Bucket
After dumping, back away from the vehicle while lowering and rolling back the bucket.
Operating with Float Control
Use the float position during hard surface operations to prevent surface gouging and reduce wear on the bucket.
Loading from a Bank
Exercise caution when undercutting high banks. Load from as low as possible to maintain efficiency.
Peeling and Scraping
Use a slight bucket angle and maintain control to achieve precise cuts.
Loading Low Trucks or Spreaders
Minimize the angle of turn and run length between the pile and spreader for faster loading.
Backfilling
Backgrade with a loaded bucket to keep the surface free of ruts. Use the float position to prevent damage to cylinders.
Handling Large Heavy Objects
Do not use loaders for large, heavy objects due to rollover risks and potential injury.
Rear Counterweight
Add recommended rear tire liquid weight or ballast for stability. Do not exceed the manufacturer's maximum gross vehicle weight.
Tractor Tires
Maintain tire inflation as recommended to ensure proper loader operation.
Tractor Preparation
Ensure the tractor is equipped with an approved ROPS system and check hydraulic system fluid levels daily.
Loader Operation
Follow safety precautions and use common sense during operation. Never exceed machinery limits and ensure all safety equipment is installed.
Cold Weather Operation
Warm up the tractor and cycle the lift and bucket cylinders to ensure smooth operation.
Loading and Dumping Buckets
For efficient loading, drive straight into the material and roll the attachment back. During dumping, maintain a level bucket to prevent spillage.
Transporting a Loaded Bucket
Keep the bucket low to prevent spilling and maintain stability. Avoid excessive speeds and ensure clearance from overhead power lines.
Scraping and Backfilling
Maintain a level bucket during scraping and use additional weight for efficient backfilling.
Controlled Rate of Loader Functions
Feather the control lever to regulate operational speeds and ensure safe handling of loaded buckets.
Joystick Control Lever
The joystick control lever is factory-mounted on the tractor and includes a safety lock function. It is crucial to lock the control lever when leaving the tractor with the bucket elevated.
Loader Hydraulic Valve
The lift cylinder circuit features a 'FLOAT' position, allowing the bucket to follow ground contours. This is engaged by moving the control lever forward into 'Detent' and disengaged by pulling it out. The control valve also has a neutral position to prevent movement.
Loader Removal Procedure
Steps include parking on a level surface, raising the boom, setting parking legs, and disconnecting hydraulic hoses. Caution is advised to avoid parking the loader without the bucket attached and to prevent weight on the parking leg.
Loader Mounting Procedure
Involves connecting hydraulic hoses, adjusting the boom and bucket, and securing the mounting frame. Caution is advised to operate the loader only from the tractor seat and to avoid standing under a raised loader.
Maintenance and Safety
Regular checks and maintenance are essential, including daily lubrication of pivot points and inspection of hydraulic components for leaks. Tire inflation should be maintained to ensure the bucket remains level. Safety precautions include relieving hydraulic pressure before maintenance and using protective measures to detect leaks.
Troubleshooting
Common issues such as slow lift, inadequate lifting capacity, and hydraulic fluid aeration are addressed with potential causes and corrections. Regular checks of hydraulic fluid levels and system pressure are recommended.
Torque Specifications
Provides torque values for various bolt sizes and grades, both in SAE and metric measurements, for proper fastening.
Metric Fastener Torque Chart
The document provides a torque chart for metric fasteners, indicating the torque specifications for different bolt sizes. It includes a note on bolt head identification marks and manufacturing variations.
