User guide – Quick Start UM-5150 Potato planter Use As the machine is pulled by the tractor, the drive wheel spoke sticks in ground, rotating the feeding rotors. Two operators sit on the two seats with their feet resting on the frame of the potato planter. Boxes of potatoes can be placed on the wooden tray, and are fed into the rotor-sectors, one potato in each sector for a total of six at a time. As the potatoes fall down the drop hole, they land in a furrow before being covered with soil by the ridging wings.

Open the catalog to page 22. Planting depth (1) is regulated by the set screw as seen. The width (2) of the planting rows is changed by disassembling the planting arm and assembling it with the plates flipped the other way. There are several configurations yielding row distanced from 56 cm to 85 cm.

The row width (1) and depth (2) are adjusted by loosening the bolts clamping the frame. The angle of the ridging wings (3) can be adjusted depending on soil conditions to give the best soil coverage. The angle and spring stiffness (4) is adjusted by tightening and loosening the nut at the end of the spring.
