Product catalog summary
Applications
Filtaworx® Automatic Self-Cleaning Screen Filters are designed for irrigation systems, effectively removing organic contaminants like algae and slime, as well as inorganic contaminants such as sand and grit. They offer fine filtration down to 250 mesh or 50 microns, with a standard operating pressure of 150 psi and flow ranges starting from 110 gpm. These filters are suitable for drip, micro-spray, and sprinkler systems.

Advantages
The filters feature a heavy-duty stainless steel body and a durable, low-maintenance self-cleaning mechanism. They offer a wide range of screen mesh sizes and can be hydraulically or electrically driven. The automatic self-cleaning piston action operates when a pre-set pressure drop of 5–7 psi is reached. The design allows for easy replacement of sectional screens and compact installation in any orientation.

Filtration System Operation
During normal operation, water enters the filter, passes through a coarse screen, and then through a fine screen to the outlet. A pressure drop triggers the cleaning cycle, which involves a backflushing effect that cleans the fine screen in approximately 15 seconds. The system then resets for the next cycle.

Specifications
The filters are available in vertical and horizontal models with varying flow rates and filtration surface areas. They are constructed with 304 stainless steel bodies and 316 stainless steel mesh fine screens. Options include high-pressure systems, electric controllers, and sustaining valves.

Ordering Information
Filtaworx filters can be ordered using a specific part number breakdown, which includes details such as model, screen type, filter size, and mesh size.

Filtration System Operation ■ During normal filtering mode the raw water enters the inlet of the filter and passes through the coarse screen (the 1/4" perforations remove large debris that may obstruct the lower mechanism). ■ Water then travels to the inner section of the filter and through the fine screen to the outlet. The solids in the water are trapped on the fine screen, eventually causing a pressure drop (dp) across the filter. ■ At a pressure drop of 5-7 psi the controller activates the cleaning cycle by opening the flush valve to drain (atmosphere). ■ The interconnection of the suction...
